Who Are We?

Our team comprises of over 30 members who are dedicated to building rockets and fostering a culture of rocketry at our institute. We host orientation sessions for new students, both undergraduate and graduate, to introduce them to our team and the field of rocketry.

We have two leads: Abhinav Damor and Vishal Shrivastava. Under them, we have subsystem leads for each subsystem: Khuloudoh Maikho is the lead for the airframe subsystem, Rajeev Durandhar and Utkarsh Dev are the leads for the propulsion subsystem, and Bhavana P is the lead for the recovery subsystem. In addition, we have Divyanshu Meena, Anuj Bhawsar, and Harshit Dandelia as our business leads. Shobit Maheshwari is the point of contact for the avionics subsystem.

What Have We Done So Far?

The IITB Rocket team was founded two years ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges of working online, the team was able to survive and thrive. Now that we have returned to working offline, our progress has significantly increased compared to last year. We are working diligently and are excited to participate in the SA Cup 2023.

Our team is actively working towards the goal of completing our first sounding rocket, "ADYANT," in time for the SA Cup 2023, which will be held in June 2023. In addition to this competition, we also plan to participate in other rocketry events and showcase our work at research and development expos. We are dedicated to continually improving and advancing our skills and capabilities in the field of rocketry.

What is our Vision?

Currently, we are satisfied with the size of our team and the progress we are making. However, in the future we plan to introduce a payload subsystem to enable us to participate in payload-specific competitions. As the scale of our rockets increases, we anticipate expanding the size of our team to meet the demand. We are excited to continue growing and developing as a team, and we look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
