The project requires processing images derived from nozzle spray experiments and deriving plots for further analysis. Standard image processing task, requires the usage of Computer Vision libraries in Python and finally exporting the detected objects as excel plots.

Work Description

Roles: 1 Python programmer

Stipend: Paid project (join community for more details)

Project Duration: 1 month 

Tasks/Deliverables:

  1. CV: Use OpenCV/Yolov5 to locate the positions of the experiment markers in the image
  2. Augmentation: Crop spray pattern images to the relevant area with the aid of markers
  3. Analysis: Process the data gathered, generate plots and note inferences, if necessary
  4. Accuracy: Fine-tune the model to be precise upto a few millimeters
  5. Delivery: Provide a Python wrapper to make the model executable from the command line

(Optional) Assignment:

In this assignment, you are required to complete the following tasks 

  1. Data Preparation: Load images from the COCO dataset using OpenCV
  2. Image Processing: Apply necessary pre-processing techniques like image conversion to grayscale, blurring, thresholding etc
  3. Object Detection: Use any object detection algorithm to pick out objects of interest from the image based on their class lables
  4. Bounding Boxes: Draw rectangles around these detected objects
  5. Submission: Display the original image with rectangles drawn around detected objects
