Project Overview

Project Name: IIoT Sensor Hub Development
Category: Electrical (Hardware + Software)
Current Team: Umang, Harshit

Description: The project aims to develop a robust and reliable Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensor hub that will serve as a commercial product for industrial applications. Industrial machines require monitoring and maintenance, and certain primary machines, if they malfunction, can cause disruptions to the entire production process and result in significant losses.

Our module performs vibration analysis of the machine using accelerometer data and processes the frequency and time domain responses to identify bottlenecks. The processed data is stored on an SD card and also transferred over WiFi for further processing. In summary, the sensor hub will collect data from various sensors deployed in industrial machines, transmit it to the primary IC through CAN, perform advanced data processing and analysis, and securely transmit the data to a remote server for monitoring and analysis.

The project will strictly adhere to industry standards and guidelines, including Functional Safety (FuSA), ISO, and EMC compliance, ensuring a high level of quality and reliability.

Current Status

The project is a collaborative effort between academic researchers and industry experts, with the goal of bridging the gap between academia and practical industrial applications. So far, we have received the SRS (Software Requirements Specification) document from the client, and the component selections have been completed. Extensive research and development have already been conducted to define the project requirements and specifications.

The current technical status of the project is in the hardware design and prototyping phase, with the integration of firmware and software components to follow.
