Who Are We?

Techfest is an annual technical festival organized by the students of the IIT Bombay. It is widely regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious technical festivals in Asia, drawing participants from all over the world. The festival offers a diverse range of events, including robotics competitions, hackathons, workshops, lectures, and exhibitions. Typically held in December, Techfest IIT Bombay serves as a platform for students to demonstrate their technical and entrepreneurial abilities, as well as connect with industry professionals

What Have We Done So Far?

Techfest is an annual event that has been held every year since 1998. As the festival has grown in size and reputation over the years, it now features a wide range of events and competitions that showcase the technical and entrepreneurial skills of students from around the world. These events include robotics competitions, hackathons, workshops, lectures, and exhibitions. The festival also attracts a diverse range of participants, including students, industry professionals, and researchers. The organizing team for Techfest varies in size from year to year, but typically includes around 500-1000 students who work together to plan, organize, and execute the event. These students are divided into various teams, such as Event Management, Publicity, Sponsorship, Operations, Core technical, Website and Design, and many more. Each team is led by a team lead and is composed of several members who work towards the successful execution of the festival. The organization is headed by Overall Coordinators, followed by Managers of each department. Under them, there are several Coordinators and Organizers who are generally freshmen/sophomores.

What is our Vision?

The vision of Techfest IIT Bombay is to provide a platform for students to showcase their technical and entrepreneurial skills, inspire innovation and creativity in the fields of science and technology. The festival aims to be a leading platform for promoting innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship among students and young professionals, and to provide a space for the exchange of ideas and knowledge between students, industry professionals, and researchers. To achieve this vision, Techfest IIT Bombay organizes a variety of initiatives such as:

  1. Robotics competitions, where students design and build robots that can perform specific tasks.
  2. Hackathons, coding competitions that challenge students to create innovative solutions to problems using programming and other technical skills.
  3. Workshops, organized by industry experts to give participants hands-on experience in the field they are interested in.
  4. Lectures, organized by industry experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs to provide insights into the latest trends and developments in science and technology.
  5. Exhibitions, where student projects and research work are exhibited, giving students an opportunity to showcase their work and get feedback from industry experts.
  6. Entrepreneurship competitions, that challenge students to come up with innovative business ideas and provide them with a platform to pitch their ideas to investors.
  7. Quizzes and puzzles, which test participants' knowledge and problem-solving skills in various fields of science and technology.
  8. Online Challenges, some challenges are held online, where participants from all over the world can participate and showcase their skills.
