Who Are We?

The Volleyball team at our institute has a roster of 25-30 members, led by the Institute Volleyball Secretary, Sakshi Patil, and the Institute Sports Conveners, Srajan Jain and Akhilesh Prasad. During regular practice sessions, which take place in the evenings, the team begins with group warm-up exercises, including stretching, running, and other exercises. This is followed by volleyball drills, such as underarm, overarm, service, tapping, and defence, under the guidance of the coach and sports officer. The team participates in a number of premier events throughout the year, including the Institute Volleyball League, Battle of PGs, Valentine's Volleyball, General Championship, and Freshiesta.

What Have We Done So Far?

The Inter IIT Volleyball tournament results have shown great progress in recent years, with notable achievements from the Men and Women's teams. In the 54th meet held in KGP in 2019, Delhi took first place for the Men's team, with KGP and Bombay following in second and third place, respectively. For the Women's team, Roorkee took the first place, followed by Delhi and Madras. Unfortunately, Bombay lost to Kanpur in the quarterfinals. The previous year, the 53rd meet held in Guwahati was won by Delhi and the 52nd meet held in Madras in 2017 was won by Bombay. There has been a significant improvement in the game sense of players, particularly the women's team, which has shown exceptional performance recently and we are optimistic that they will grab the gold in the upcoming 55th Inter IIT.

What is our Vision?

Our institute boasts some of the best facilities for volleyball, both indoors and outdoors, in the country, providing ample resources for our players to excel. As a result, the Volleyball community at our institute is continually expanding and achieving great success. We anticipate that in the near future, we will attract even more talented players and continue to strive for the gold in competitions.

Who are we looking for, and what's in it for you?

Volleyball is not just a physical game, but also requires a set of skills such as agility, mobility, reactiveness, attentiveness, and confidence. These skills are essential for players regardless of their position on the court. Our primary aim is to create a pure "Haikyuu" environment for our audience to enjoy (a popular voleyball anime series for those who don't get it).
