Who Are We?

The Chemistry Club, consisting of 6 members including 2 managers and 4 conveners, focuses on organizing events and networking. Our premier events include the Winter School of Chemistry and the upcoming Rascionix.

What Have We Done So Far?

In the past year, the Chemistry Club has been active in organizing and conducting various events and initiatives. These include 3 talks, the creation of a special interest group (SIG-ma), a symposium, the Winter School of Chemistry, and the upcoming Heisenberg. The Winter School of Chemistry alone saw over 500 registrations and 150 completions, with notable sessions led by esteemed professors such as Anindya Datta and Irishi Namboothiri. The club was founded in 2019 and has grown significantly since then, increasing its membership from 3 conveners to 6 members, including 2 managers. We also expanded our network this year, including the establishment of an ACS Student Chapter international network and obtaining an inventory of chemicals and lab equipment for our offline activities.

What is our Vision?

The Chemistry Club has several upcoming events planned, including Rascionix and Heisenberg, as well as others. Our tasks primarily involve question-making, publicity, and organizational and logistical planning. As a club under the ITC, we have some limitations on our organizational structure, but we hope to increase the number of conveners in the future. This year, we have two managers instead of one as in previous years. Our goals for the future include increasing the number of external speakers, improving audience diversity, organizing specialized events for more advanced participants, incorporating more hands-on experiments and activities, and organizing events involving experiments and large networking opportunities in fields related to chemistry.

Who are we looking for, and what's in it for you?

Being a part of the Chemistry Club offers opportunities to improve chemistry knowledge, organizational and networking skills; as a part of the team, we'd expect you to have skills and interest in the same. With respect to the audience, our aim is to showcase the fun and engaging side of chemistry.
