Who Are We?

Established in 2001, E-Cell IIT Bombay is a student-run organization that aims to promote entrepreneurship among students and the community. Our goal is to encourage students to start their own businesses and foster an entrepreneurial culture on campus by providing them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources. We also strive to contribute to the development of the startup ecosystem in India through partnerships with industry leaders, investors, and government organizations.

What Have We Done So Far?

E-Cell IIT Bombay has been actively promoting entrepreneurship among students and the community through a variety of initiatives. Some of our key efforts include:

  1. Workshops and seminars: We organize workshops and seminars on various topics related to entrepreneurship, such as business planning, marketing, and fundraising.
  2. Incubation program: We run an incubation program that provides mentorship, funding, and resources to startups and early-stage ventures.
  3. Networking events: We organize events such as networking sessions and startup fairs to connect entrepreneurs with potential investors, customers, and partners.
  4. Competitions: E-Cell hosts competitions such as the E-Summit and the Business Plan Competition to encourage innovation and promote entrepreneurship among students.

E-Cell IIT Bombay has also been behind the success of several startups, including InMobi, PubMatic, and NowFloats.

What is our Vision?

E-Cell is divided into several sub-divisions, each with its own specific focus and responsibilities. These main sub-divisions include:

  1. Incubation Team: responsible for running the incubation program and providing mentorship, funding, and resources to startups and early-stage ventures.
  2. Events Team: responsible for organizing events such as workshops, seminars, networking sessions and startup fairs.
  3. Marketing Team: responsible for promoting E-Cell and its initiatives to students and the community.
  4. Outreach Team: responsible for building partnerships with industry leaders, investors, and government organizations.
  5. Curriculum Team: responsible for developing and delivering educational content to students.
  6. Alumni Team: responsible for connecting with and supporting the organization's alumni.

E-Cell is presided by 2 Overall Coordinators (OCs) who are supported by Managers of each division. Under them are a group of roughly 10-20 coordinators depending on the sub-division, and lastly we have a lot of organizers, mostly from the fresher year.

Who are we looking for, and what's in it for you?

E-Cell IIT Bombay has undertaken several initiatives to promote entrepreneurship among students. These include:

  1. E-Summit: The Entrepreneurship Summit is our annual flagship event that brings together visionary students, professionals, or anyone who has a passion for leaving a dent in the universe, starting their own business, or funding a venture. It serves as a platform for potential ideas and early-stage startups to develop in a risk-free environment.
  2. Eureka: Eureka is a platform that aims to bridge the gap between idea and enterprise by providing a platform for potential ideas and early-stage startups to develop in a risk-free environment.
  3. NEC: The National Entrepreneurship Challenge is a pan-India challenge that aims to develop entrepreneurship among the nation's younger generation by promoting entrepreneurship on student campuses across India.
  4. SSP: The Startup Support Program aims to help budding startups by providing basic services at a discounted rate, so they can advance further and scale their business.
  5. FinCof: FinCof (Freelancers, Interns, and Co-Founders) connects startups across the country with students of IIT Bombay. Each startup listed on this portal offers a role in their company for students with the same vision and passion.
  6. ENB Club: The Entrepreneurship and Business Club is an initiative of E-Cell IIT Bombay that aims to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship among students.
  7. EnSpace: An official learning platform by E-Cell, IIT Bombay.
  8.  Kaaya: A social initiative taken by E-Cell to promote awareness and knowledge about the spectrum of abilities that grows within autistic individuals, embracing autism.
