Who Are We?

The Web and Coding Club (WnCC) is a community of hobbyist programmers at the institute. It consists of 10 members, including 2 managers and 8 conveners, who are responsible for organizing events. The number of conveners may vary from year to year, typically ranging from 8 to 12.

The WnCC team is responsible for organizing a variety of programming events, including workshops, hackathons, and other activities focused on topics such as machine learning, development, distributed systems, and web3. In addition to these events, the team may also work on developing projects for the institute and pursuing hobby projects.

What Have We Done So Far?

In the past, WnCC managers have been involved in the development of various projects, including the IITB SSO and Safe Application. However, most development projects at the institute are now handled by DevCom. This year, WnCC is focusing on the development of a SOC portal and a mobile app for the club.

As one of the oldest clubs at IIT Bombay, WnCC has a long history of organizing programming events. Over the years, the club has seen an increase in participation and has introduced new domains of programming to its community. In fact, WnCC is proud to host more than 40 events each year, solidifying its position as a leader in this field.

What is our Vision?

WnCC is committed to providing a platform for aspiring coders and coding enthusiasts to learn, grow, and improve their skills. By fostering a sense of community and offering a range of programming events and activities, the club aims to support the development of its members and continue to thrive as a leading source of programming resources.

Who are we looking for, and what's in it for you?

As a convener for WnCC, you will have the opportunity to learn how to organize and execute events and hackathons while managing your academic responsibilities. You may also be expected to quickly learn different programming skills and technologies in preparation for events, and may even be involved in the full stack development of portals and game engines for key events such as SOC and Codewars.

As a WnCC manager, you will have the opportunity to learn how to effectively manage a team, delegate tasks, and track the performance of your conveners. You will also have the chance to brainstorm and plan events from start to finish and may choose to work on complex development projects as hobby projects within the club. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to network with company speakers and DevRels and expand your professional connections.

The only requirement for joining WnCC as a convener is a strong enthusiasm for learning programming.
